Project Valour-IT 2011

Project Valour-IT 2011

I’m hardly one for donation mania but this project is known to me. It not only spends the money wisely, it does so on the target and is also effective.

Your money is well spent on providing US soldiers seriously injured in the course of their duties with supportive equipment like laptops with voice recognition software in order to improve their functionality and recovery.

Donate to Project Valour-IT here via Team Army.

If you’re on the fence or not quite sure what help is provided this account by a recipient puts things quite clearly.

Do you have a Right?

Who knew lawyers could be fun?

Kinda.

A cute little game here about US constitutional rights. You run a law firm and have to match up potential clients with the appropriate amendment rights. Each of your lawyers are specialists in particular amendments. Occasionally you get the red herring too, where a client thinks they have a right but do not.

Would be nice if the music could be toggled.  Would have preferred the amendments a little less paraphrased too, but I do think this is a good learning tool for US constitutional rights.

ANZAC Day 2011

ANZAC Day 2011

Australian FlagAttended the ANZAC day Dawn Service at 6.00am this morning to a good crowd at Morphett Vale’s memorial. No rain at all but quite cold. It’s always amazing to see so many come. The service itself is quite short. Lowering the flags, the service and laying of the wreaths. The two minute silence and the anthems.

I will put this link to RSL SA down, as much to remind myself, as my readers of where to get the details of the local services, which are not so easy to find. There are quite a few locally so perhaps next year we will attend one of the others.

One man was carrying a frame full of medals emotion of his face plain.

We remembered too the other members of ANZAC. The New Zealand flag and anthem of course but there was also a haka. Kia kaha.

We will remember them.
